New Walgreens Rewards Program

Wondering where my Walgreens matchups are this week?  Well, starting Sunday 9/16, Walgreens is doing away with their current Register Rewards program, and is switching to a points system.  You can sign up HERE

Although I am still very confused at how this system will work, here is the gist of what I understand so far.

You will now receive a rewards card, to swipe during each purchase. (Much like the CVS and Rite Aid loyalty cards).

Some items will still offer the traditional RR ($ OYNO catalina) that prints as a coupon at the register.

You will earn loyalty points for each  $1 spent on qualifying items (excludes alcohol, dairy, tobacco, stamps, gift cards, or items bought with points).  You will also earn 500 points for a filled prescription (excluding AR, NJ, & NY residents), extra points for advertised items, and 10 points for miles walked under Walk With Walgreens.  1000 accrued points is equivalent to $1 Reward.

I'm not sure how I feel about this new program...what do you frequent Wags shoppers think?  Please comment with your thoughts and feelings!
